The following is a transcript from the Pro America Report.
Welcome, Welcome, welcome. It’s Ed Martin here on the Pro America Report great to be together, big, big news today.
But we’ll talk first with John Schlafly in just a couple of moments. And also Robert Bork. Robert Bork the younger he’s not a kid anymore himself is in his probably 60s, but he is the son of Robert Bork, the famous judge who was Borked, who was mistreated by the the Senate, and was forced out of his nomination to be on the US Supreme Court. Extraordinary guy. So we’ll talk with Robert Bork. He’s an antitrust expert and he’s an expert on the FTC. And other things, so we’ll hear what he has to say.
But first today’s WYNK, what you need to know, you’ve got to go back and look at this debate right? This is unbelievable. What happened last night. The debate and more importantly the Tucker Carlson interview with Donald Trump. It changes everything.
But first let me remind you, go to proamericareport.com proamericareport.com sign up there for the daily WYNK, the daily e-mail. What you need to know. You get that in your inbox, you get a few Comments. Usually 1 pithy and salient comment, a few links and some of the key stories, and especially what you need to know. That’s the point. It’s the WYNK, the daily WYNK.
Today’s WYNK also happens on the program. We talk about it right now, and I have to tell you. Last night was an ending of sorts for the media, for the media dominance, and there’s no doubt about that. I agree that when you see that Donald Trump’s interview with with Tucker Carlson at by, I think about 9:00 in the morning on Thursday morning, it had received 200,000,000 views. 200,000,000 views. I mean this was earth shattering.
Now I need to explain something to you about this. Though there there is an aspect of this that makes me nervous because I’m not sure that it it can sustain. In the world we’re in and and I’ll explain to you why I think there’s some aspects of this that may be different than we ever can replicate, but. For now, let’s Go like this.
The debate between the Republican candidates was a dud, was a unexciting unmeaningful thing. Everybody played their role. The role was mostly tired, even if they weren’t old, but tired. Old reviews of things. I think De Santis got credit for being sort of a A Effective or a functioning guy. And then Vivek Ramaswamy was the most dynamic guy. I mean, all kinds of ways, how he looked, how he sounded, what he said. Everybody attacked him. Everybody else was a dud. Chris Christie’s actually just, he’s really a jerk. And Hutchinson, all these different people. Just dud city, when it comes to running for president, the the question becomes why, right? Why are these people? Why are these people actually in this race? I mean, that’s the question. But here’s what here’s what you need to know. Here’s what you need to know.
The the interesting thing about what? So over at Twitter. Tucker Carlson interviews Donald Trump, and the interview is about 45 minutes long. That’s all pretty short, and it starts at 5 minutes before the debate was starting, right? That was on purpose. So East Coast time, it was 5 minutes to 9. That thing started and it just swamped it. It swamped it and Trump was compelling as can be. He was funny. He was interesting, he was savvy and it was extraordinary.
Here’s the problem. Tucker Carlson, if you listen to the interview that I did about four days ago with Tucker Carlson’s biographer Chadwick Moore, he was on the program. And we Did a long. Interview, and he’s a fascinating guy. But but what he told me was Tucker is under contract with Fox, so he’s still Being paid and his contract because he was powerful enough when he negotiated it allows him to do a lot of other stuff. Like travel, speak to groups, do interviews. He just can’t get paid. That’s how it was said on the interview. Meaning he’s doing all this Twitter stuff for nothing. He’s not actually monetizing it. He’s not getting paid to do it. I’m pretty, you know, in fact, now that I say it though. Yeah. No, because you don’t have to subscribe to Tucker. Tucker is Not a subscription Service you. In fact, I don’t think you can subscribe, so he’s not getting paid to do his to do his interviews, and therefore he’s got sort of nothing to lose. And I hate to say it, nothing to gain. If you get my point, he’s actually able. He’s actually able to go out there and and sort of take these risks and be out there. He doesn’t need the money from it and he’s not going to get penalized from it. He’s not going to get fired for it. He’s not going to get cancelled for it. He’s not going to get paid for it, not extra. And so my point is. It he’s got less to lose. Trump is such a dominant personality. I mean, he’s the most dominant personality in the world now in terms of just his fame and but also how he handles things. He is the most, I’m so he’s got nothing Also sort of left to lose in the sense that he doesn’t need to go to the debate, he doesn’t need Twitter and and my point here is that yes, it looks like Twitter, the Twitter interview with Tucker prove that you don’t need a TV. I’m not sure it proved yet that you can do your show on Twitter only, I’m just not sure I see that. I feel like there’s a good chance that the the people who are in this Tucker plus Trump are so unique that they change the dynamic of where things are. I I have to think that’s right. I have to think that’s right. Now excuse me.
That that maybe doesn’t make it any less impressive. Over 200 million people have viewed the the Tucker Carlson interview with Trump and and here’s again what what is amazing about Trump, I mean, and at a certain point, you cannot say he’s Doing it because he’s just Lucky.
He does that interview on Wednesday night. It’s so well watched all day on Thursday morning. I told you it was tracking a huge number of people watching it and then he’s going down to to Atlanta and he goes and and turns himself in and the whole world is watching. The whole world is watching what Donald Trump is doing. That’s at the very heart of what the guy is up to is the ability to get everybody to look at what he’s doing and you can’t look away. You just cannot look away. It’s it’s extraordinary to see. It’s amazing to see. It’s one. I don’t know if we’ve ever seen anything like it. And. And I will say it’s there’s never been anybody as effective.
I thought Tucker was a pretty good interview. He asked some questions that were sort of a little bit more, a little more insightful and all, but not not much. He mostly was, like Trump always does. Trump dominated. And and he dominated the debate, I mean, he dominated the interview and got everything he wanted out in that period of time. And man, a lot of did people see it.
Now I want to encourage You, as an aside, now that was, that’s what you need to know. That’s what you need to know is yes, it’s true that Tucker and Trump broke the Internet. Yes, it’s true that Tucker and Trump broke Fox News. I agree with all that. I just don’t know if there’s any. If anybody else can do it too. And so we’ll see.
And you know the news out late in the day was that Tucker Carlson. Is being investigated. By the Justice Department, I think they’re actually suing him. You know, I’m not sure you know as much as Trump is a target. I’m not sure that guy, a guy like Musk is going to survive the target that he’s going to get on him.
But we’ll see. But let me slide over and let You know, a couple things. Programming notes I I did 2 lengthy interviews today. One was an hour long podcast with Donna Vandenberg up in Michigan. She’s got her own podcast, very good. We had a great discussion. It’s in the can. I think it’s been released already. You can find her on Rumble and other places. She’s got her own website. She’s really great. She is a super interviewer and it was a super conversation. And then I filled in for Tamara Scott. Tamara Scott, of course, is a my friend from Iowa who is the. Committee woman for. Iowa on the Republican National Committee. She does a one hour show on Lindell. Like Lindell, Mike Lindell’s TV show station Lindell. I’m getting it Right, Lindell. And it was a lot of fun, a lot of fun. We we talked pro-life stuff. She she’s off. She was I think probably at the debate and then had other commitments. So we we covered some pro-life stuff we covered some Patriot freedom project and the January 6th stuff and then we also spent a good amount of time revisiting the topic. From a few days ago, where I really ranted and I did it again on the legal community, and I’m just gonna put another hammer into this. I’m gonna hammer it again.
On Wednesday. They had, I think 10. People arrested in Georgia, they had to turn themselves in and they of course made them take mug shots. And then they immediately leaked the mug shots out. It’s just, it’s like standard lawfare. It’s terrible, it’s ridiculous. It is what it is. But I think. Out of the 10, 9 Of them were lawyers. And my point here and I ranted On this on Tamara Scott’s show on Lindell TV was it It’s insanity. This is insanity. That we’re allowing. And we’re allowing the lawfare to go on and the the insane part of it. It’s insane in all kinds of levels. I mean, it truly is. But the, the the level that’s driving me the most to distraction and it’s so upsetting is the fact that we have. And a the the gold standard, the crown jewel. Of American life, in the world, really. Is our justice system and it’s being subverted by this horrendous stuff and the Bar is not objecting. The Bar is not objecting. So if you want to hear me rant on that again, which I talked about a few days ago on the program, you can go to at the Tamara Scott show on Lindell TV and I did that there we. It was great. It was a good program. I enjoyed it immensely. I love those listeners so. That’s all we’ve got for the WYNK.
We’ll be right. Back we got. With John excuse me, back with John Schlafly in just A moment, it’s Edd Martin here. On the Pro America Report, talk to you then.
